Telesto Group provides both implementation and competency center support to its clients and can include offshore development when requested by our clients. The United States has become the location for many international automobile manufactures. Third-party bonded distribution centers are often used to deliver vehicle-specific sequenced parts to the production line injection point. This is usually driven by industry standard software outside of SAP even though SAP is used as the procurement engine for these plants. This sequenced parts positioning process tends to require manual confirmation of these parts for production line injection. Errors in this process can lead to production line stoppages. These errors are not visible in SAP. Either multiple systems must be monitored or, as is more often the case, the line operator makes a call to report the problem when he or she becomes aware of it. Wouldn't it be great to streamline the process and determine the issues before the line stopped? It is possible to use SAP as a platform to direct and control all aspects of sequenced part delivery. Often the same data that is used in the procurement cycle can be used to trigger sequenced part distribution. Using RF terminals and scanners with configured, available SAP applications such as Kanban and Workflow as well as with SAP custom applications, it is possible to program and view all locations of sequenced parts from within SAP. Mechanizing the process greatly reduces the opportunity for human error and can eliminate production line holdups due to misplaced or incorrect sequenced parts. Telesto Group is a leader in providing proven solutions from production planning through procurement to the injection of the correct part into the production line. All within SAP! |
